The most critical contribution we make to the community is to provide safe, reliable competitively priced energy and water services. To help achieve the lowest rates for our customers, we have a very limited sponsorship program.
Our sponsorship program supports local community projects and nonprofit events. Projects or events that are eligible for corporate sponsorship are finite in nature, located and serve citizens within our service territory or locations significantly impacted by our operations. Because of budget constraints, only events or organizations that have a strong alignment with Springs Utilities business priorities will be considered for financial sponsorship. Priorities for financial support include:
- diversity
- safety
- the environment
- renewable energy and conservation
- science education
- customer service
- selected health issues - heart disease and diabetes
- utilities assistance partners
- business market segment associations
- economic development
- designated city sponsored events
Other sponsorship opportunities include donation of water for events, temporary power for events on public property and barricade support for designated city sponsored events.
Requests not within our Sponsorship Program guidelines include: support for individuals; sponsorship of individual sports teams; support for religious events or organizations unless for general community benefit and not promoting any religious doctrine; and support for political causes, candidates or committees. The Sponsorship Program does not support ongoing programs or volunteer activities. Funding for ongoing programs and volunteer projects can be requested through the Community Focus Fund.
Organizations and groups interested in receiving financial or in-kind support through our Sponsorship Program must complete the online application and submit all required support documents by December 11, 2009 for all 2010 events. A separate online application will need to be completed for each event.
