Are you up to the challenge? All you need is some enthusiasm and a camera.
Sustainlane, which ranks the most populous U.S. cities in terms of their sustainability practices, has set up the Local Action Challenge to show how making small differences can create major results.
Here's how it works.
1. Choose a challenge.
2. Take a photo of yourself, your neighbor, friend, pet or whoever completes the challenge.
3. Upload it to the Sustainlane site.
4. Win a prize.
5. Repeat.
The challenges include
| |
| - Use your own shopping bags
|
| - Use homemade, natural cleaners
|
- Use more reusable containers
| - Clean your refrigerator coils
|
- Influence someone to use a reusable water bottle
| Clean up a park or neighborhood |
In 2008, Sustainlane ranked Colorado Springs 48th out of the 50 cities surveyed in their annual rankings. Let's show Sustainlane we've come a long way since last year. Show off your green pride!
Each point you personally earn will enter you into a weekly Sustainlane drawing.
The campaign ends Nov. 30, so do it today!
