Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL)
An ENERGY STAR-qualified CFL will save about $30 on your lighting costs over its lifetime and pay for itself in about six months. It uses 75 percent less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb. The easiest way to start saving energy is to change out the light bulbs in your current fixtures. If you are remodeling, building a new home or just updating the look of a room, consider installing new ENERGY STAR-qualified light fixtures.
