Home Audits
Before starting a home efficiency project, it's best to know where to start. We offer a free program to help identify trouble spots in your home and improve its energy efficiency.
Free home profiles with Energy Depot
Your personalized Energy Depot profile includes information to help outline your use and includes a breakdown of how you can cut back on the habits that cost you the most money. The service is free and only takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
To generate your profile:
- Visit energydepot.com/cosres.
- Enter at least one month of utility bill information from your records. Entering the last 12 months provides a more accurate assessment. If you don't have information from previous months, you can get the information by calling 448-4800.
- Answer a series of questions about your home’s energy consumption.
Your profile is saved so you can update or review the results in the future.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR
A drafty home, rooms that are too hot or too cold, and high energy bills are all common issues for homeowners. Installing a new heating or air conditioning system, buying replacement windows, or adding more insulation may fix part of the problem. But the way to better results is through an integrated "whole-house" approach that looks at your house as a system.
- Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, offers a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort at home, while helping to protect the environment.
- Through this program, specially-trained contractors evaluate your home using state-of-the-art equipment and recommend comprehensive improvements that will yield the best results.
- The cost depends on which contractor and services you choose.
Locate a qualifying contractor now or contact Kristen Elsmore (303-216-2026, extension 105) for more information.
Please note that contractors often look at the amount of energy a family uses to detect problems or offer solutions. Springs Utilities cannot release customer information without written permission of the customer. To allow a contractor to access, complete an authorization form (PDF).
