ENERGY STAR announcements
- ENERGY STAR will not be labeling programmable thermostats as of 01/01/2010. The ENERGY STAR programmable thermostat rebate will be discontinued for 2010. Individuals that purchase this product in December 2009 will have until 01/31/2010 to submit applications, as long as funding is still available.
- ENERGY STAR has announced that version 5.0 of the program requirements for windows will be effective 01/01/2010. Because of this change, participants in Colorado Springs Utilities' window rebate will need to meet the standards set forth by ENERGY STAR. A key change is that the U-factor requirement will change from 0.35 or below to 0.30 or below.
About window rebates
If you are applying for our window rebates, applications must be accompanied by two stickers that can be found on your window. The ENERGY STAR sticker will have a map showing which part of the country your window is qualified as an Energy STAR product.

The National Fenestration Rating Council is a third-party, non-profit organization that sponsors certified rating and labeling programs to help consumers compare the energy and performance features of windows, doors, and skylights and their label contains information about the U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain of the window. This will be right above or right below the ENERGY STAR Sticker.
