Custom rebates keep your money from going down the drain

If your business uses conventional dipper well faucets to keep heavily-used utensils clean and sanitary between uses, you have the potential to substantially reduce your water and wastewater bill.

Replace your wasteful dipper well faucets with a water-conserving utensil holder or scoop shower and save up to $3,000 a year on water and wastewater costs. And pay for this investment using the business custom water rebate.

Coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and many restaurants use dipper well faucets to keep heavily-used utensils sanitary throughout the business day. These faucets use a continuous flow of water to sanitize utensils while allowing employees to focus on serving patrons. Dipper wells also help prevent the cross contamination of flavors and ingredients. While dipper wells keep utensils clean, this continuous flow of water can use more than 500 gallons of water per day – and as much as 250,000 gallons per year.

Fortunately, there are now good alternatives available that keep utensils sanitary, free up workers to serve customers – all while saving water and money. These alternatives are “utensil holding” technologies – scoop showers or utensil holders – which hold utensils at 140 degrees Fahrenheit and abandon the continuous flow of water. These devices have been shown to reduce water consumption to below 10 gallons per day and to provide the same, if not better, level of sanitation as a standard cold or hot water dipper well.

These units cost approximately $500 and are easy to install by the operator without hiring an outside contractor or technician. Even without a rebate, these will pay for themselves in as little as two or three months.

And to sweeten the deal, we’ll provide a rebate for qualifying purchases. Find more tips and ideas to help your business save water and money.
