Apartments save water & money with upgrade

In August, SAS Conserve managed a retrofit project with The Summit Apartments to replace toilets, showerheads and sink aerators.

Owned and managed by Volunteers of America, The Summit Apartments were built in 1984 and consist of 19 apartment buildings with 256 housing units, 368 bathrooms and a 100 percent occupancy rate.


Water savings by the numbers

  • $36,400 qualified toilet rebate

SAS Conserve is a nationwide provider that focuses on water conservation for large or multiple properties through installation of ultra-high efficiency plumbing fixtures that result in superior water and money savings.

Each unit was retrofitted with toilets using 0.8 gallons per flush, shower heads using 1.25 gallons per minute, kitchen sink aerators using 1 gallon per minute and bathroom sink aerators using 0.5 gallons per minute.
