Green power program

As a community-owned utility, we are dedicated to providing renewable energy options for all we serve. Our customers have said that they want more renewable energy options, and we listened.

We offer all of our customers – residential and business – an opportunity to help support the market for renewable energy with our Green Power Program.

The Green Power Program is a voluntary program that allows customers to designate up to 100% of their monthly electric use to be generated by solar energy. You can make a positive impact on the environment by participating.

  • Residential customers can subscribe in 10% increments, beginning at 30%, up to 100%.
  • Commercial, industrial and special contract customers can subscribe in 10% increments up to 100%.

Customers enrolled in the Green Power Program pay $0.0307 per kilowatt hour in place of the electric cost adjustment (ECA) for the portion of energy subscribed in the program. The current ECA per kilowatt hour is listed in the residential and business rate sheets.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, the new Green Power rate will be $0.0449 per kilowatt hour. Like electric and gas cost adjustment rates, this rate will be reviewed four times a year and adjusted to reflect the cost to provide renewable energy 24 hours a day.

Commercial customer costs may vary - call (719) 448-4800 or your business account manager for an estimate.

The program was available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Green Power Program is Green-e® Energy certified, and meets the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. Learn more at www.green-e.org.
