Sunset Hyssop
Sunset hyssop is an upright, clump-forming, flowering perennial with spikes of soft orange and purple flowers.
The narrow gray-green leaves emit a fragrance like root beer. It is very attractive to hummingbirds and hawk moths.
It is one of the best perennial flowers to add color to a landscape and support a variety of insects and birds. It looks great planted next to ornamental grasses and spring bloomers.
We highly recommend this plant.

Performance
Sunset hyssop is the most reliable of the hyssops planted at the Water Wise Demonstration Garden. It grows best in full sun and can tolerate low and very low water conditions.
We highly recommend this plant because it is easy to care for and adds so many wonderful features to landscapes.
Maintenance
Prune dead stems to ground level after the new leaves have emerged at the base of the plant in spring. Cutting back in spring (rather than fall) improves winter survival.
