Yellow Iceplant
Yellow iceplant is a semi-evergreen, low-growing groundcover with small jellybean-like leaves. In summer the leaves are a light lime green; in the fall and winter, they are reddish purple.
Yellow iceplant is a low-maintenance plant with yellow flowers that smother the foliage. Over time, the mat of leaves will fill in an area. It is a reliably hardy, good year-round plant for the Pikes Peak region. It works well at higher elevations, too.

Performance
At the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, this plant is mass planted in the very low water zone. It has performed well for many years. The blooms are excellent. The fall color remains throughout most of the winter, adding winter interest.
Maintenance
No maintenance is required, except raking debris off the plant as needed. Be sure to plant this in an area with excellent drainage and pea gravel mulch. Some iceplants perform poorly in wood or bark mulch.
