The Kelker-South Plant Transmission line project involves constructing a large capacity 115kV overhead transmission line to connect two of our existing substations - Kelker (southeast) and South Plant (downtown).
The Kelker to South Plant Transmission Line supports the Sustainable Energy Plan (SEP)'s objective of providing system reliability and meeting the growing electrical demand in the downtown and western areas of the city at a reasonable cost.
Design, easement and permit acquisitions are in progress (2024). Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 and be completed in 2027.
