Bluestem Joint Fir

Bluestem joint fir is an extremely drought tolerant shrub that does not need any water after it has become established. It looks almost the same in summer and winter.

It has tiny leaves, so the branches are its most ornamental feature, growing upright and narrow. Insignificant tiny yellow flowers are followed by orange-red berries in late summer on mature plants.

Rather than evergreen, it is "ever-blue-green," which makes it an exceptional plant for winter interest.
