Performance
Mountain stock has been a great performer at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. Not only does it bloom in early spring when most other plants are still dormant, but it can tolerate cold temperatures and late spring frosts without damage.
It's a small plant, so it needs to be planted in a place where it will be noticed, such as close to a pathway or in a rock garden. Available from specialty plant nurseries only.
Maintenance
Trim off spent flower stalk, if desired.
