The Williams Creek Substation was expanded to accommodate the new Pike Solar Array and to interconnect with the transmission line from the Nixon Power Plant to the rest of the electric grid. Additionally, the Williams Creek Substation was reconfigured to allow portions of the substation to be isolated for maintenance or operational tasks without requiring full substation outages.
The Williams Creek Substation supports the Sustainable Energy Plan's goal to expand our resources with renewable energy generation to reduce emissions and to protect our environment. This Substation enables our efforts to maintain a safe and reliable energy system while responsibly managing our energy costs. Construction was completed in 2023.
