In mid-summer, narrow, upright plumes grow above the leaves. The flowers have a slight pink-bronze cast which fades to tan as the seedheads ripen.
Overdam feather reed grass is shorter, forms looser clumps and tolerates more shade than Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
