Performance
Overdam feather reed grass has performed moderately well at the Water Wise Demonstration Garden. It tends to be eaten by rabbits frequently. If it doesn't get sufficient moisture early in the year, its growth is stunted for the growing season.
It grows well in moister locations throughout Colorado Springs. The light-edge leaves can create a bright accent in the landscape.
Maintenance
Cut down previous year's leaves and stems to ground level before new growth appears in spring.
