Zebra Grass
Zebra grass is a tall ornamental grass that grows best in warm conditions. It gets its name from the yellow stripes that run horizontally across the wide green leaves.
This grass grows as a fountain shape. The clump has a narrow base with leaves arching outward toward the top of the plant. When the summer weather is warm enough, it produces silvery-white flowers that look like fuzzy, finger-like clusters that extend above the leaves.
Maiden grasses perform best in moister areas. Consider some of the native ornamental grasses for lower water areas. These native grasses can achieve the same effect but with greater drought tolerance.
